Each year the amazing hospitality community in Wellington play host for the Visa Wellington On a Plate food festival.

Burger Wellington sees talented chefs from all over Wellington put their skills on show in order to create the ultimate burger. Running through until the 25th of August, the festival offers up hundreds of weird and wonderful burger creations for food lovers to sink their teeth into.

Smashed beef patty with melted cheddar, pulled beef birria, onion, sambal pickles, and red pepper umami mayonnaise in a Brezelmania French bun, with a 'lucky dip' of either birria beef broth, queso or beef gravy. Simply spin the virtual wheel to see which dip you get!

Introducing the Southern-inspired Sweet Carolina! A 60/40 blend of coarse ground chuck and brisket for a patty that's juicy and full of flavour. Layered with "Old Fashioned" infused pickles, au jus braised onions, gouda, Carolina Gold aioli and whiskey caramel BBQ sauce in a Zaida's potato bun, with Old Bay seasoned fries.

If you're looking for a party in your mouth, then look no further because Beach Babylon have a "Welly Wonka" pop-up menu for you to try.

Their Charlie Goes Snap Crackle Pop burger features rice crispy coated fried chicken with popping candied bacon, nacho cheese sauce, rainbow slaw, pickles, sour blueberry jam, green aioli, red onion strings, and a papadum in a purple Brezelmania potato bun, with waffle fries and crackling salt.

Taking inspiration from their crowd-favourite menu item the Mee Goreng, Master Kong have created Mee Kong Delta, an absolute burger masterpiece.
